Mike came to help me carve out Henry yesterday. It was a great afternoon out in the sunshine at the Folk in Gloucester, spot of lunch then a chip or two carving stone. Gill by the River.

When I went for an interview with a lady called Ruth Gill at a huge ad agency in London back when stuff was in black and white and the London tube had wooden escalators, she asked me at the end of the interview what my hobbies were. Henry gets stoned in Gloucester

A day out in Gloucester, this time at the Folk which is down at the bottom of Westgate. Worth a visit. A demonstration of stone carving by enthusiast Jim Pentney. He let me have a go at carving out a version of Henry Mouse, the character from mine and Andy Harden’s books of the same name. I’m hooked now and can’t wait to have another go next week.
