The greasy pole…

It’s tough at the top, or so I’m told. At the start of my career ( yeright! ) I thought that I’d be climbing the greasy pole and looking for career advancement. Invisible from here.

I’ve found a way of disappearing almost completely from sight. I live in the centre of a reasonably large town and like to shop in the town without making my arms any longer than they need be by carrying heavy bags. So I bought a shopping bag on wheels. Kesselling…I think.

. Another very early blog from the archive, short but sweet. When a sheep falls over it might, if it falls on its back, have trouble getting up again unaided. If my memory serves me right, the term for this condition is kesselling. It’s probably a term that originates in Yorkshire. I have absolutely no proof whatsoever that the term exists.This little person is in danger of kesselling, if perchance she does fall on her back then she may well need parental help in uprighting herself. Ooooops!

Health and safety, there it is in a nutshell. There’s nothing really very funny about slipping with a hot cup tea but somehow a cartoon makes it seem ‘different’. A little like the violence on Tom and Jerry, it’s not quite the same. I’ve done a lot of cartoons on ‘health and safety’ over the years and this one dates back quite a few years, so many that I forget who the client was.Probably a building company that used to commission cartoons about safety for them. A fine piece of sign writing.

This in a shop window just before Christmas. The vacancy can’t have been for long as the shop, which sold utter tat, has now closed. One of those places where you might buy a shirt in a box and find no arms on it when you open it on Christmas day, or even worse, someone else does.
