When did fish get fingers?

I think it was in the late 60s or early 70s when Bird’s Eye ( what sort of name is that for a food producer? ) introduced us all to the fish finger. It was a great idea and a way of getting kids to eat fish. Put some bearded old grandad on the telly dressed as a sailor and the recipe is a success.

This is spread number 8 from my book for small people called ” We love you more than…”

I have asked my grandchildren if fish have fingers but they just wave me away and get stuck in. Personally I’m quite keen on them in a sandwich. Cook them first of course.

Spread number 9 from the book. Buy it from here and your money goes to a worthy charity. Or pop into a Longfield Charity shop either in Cheltenham or Stroud, they have copies there. At least a fiver in the shops, £6-50 on line to cover postage and packing. Only 100 printed of each book so get your fingers out.
